Jacksonville Sharks News Release

ORLANDO - The Jacksonville Sharks (10-1) win their 10th straight win a dominating 76-30 victory over the Orlando Predators (2-9). This victory gives the Sharks the regular-season tie-breaker, as they have won all three games against the Predators so far this season. There is only one more game against the Predators this season, making it impossible for the Predators to take the series over.

Starting his fourth game in a row for the Sharks, Quarterback Mike Fafaul showed no mercy against the old-time rivals, throwing 25-of41 for 264 yards, six touchdowns, and one interception. Quarterback Garry Chouloute took over the duties against his former team later in the second half. He ended up throwing 1-of-1 for 5 yards, and rushing twice for five yards and two rushing touchdowns. Wide Receiver Jarmon Fortson stole the show tonight, having eight receptions for 102 yards and two touchdowns. Devin Wilson falls just short of his 1,000th yard on the season, but still had seven receptions for 61 yards and two touchdowns. Kamrin Solomon ended the night with four receptions for 51 yards and two touchdowns. Fullback Alstevis Squirewell rushed three times for 10 yards and one touchdown.

Defensive Back Seth Ellis had his best night of the season hauling in three interceptions, including one for a touchdown. All starting Defensive Backs had interceptions, as Markus Smith came away with one, and Robert Brown had two. Jack Linebacker Cody Saul also had an interception as well as a reception for five yards. This gives Jacksonville a total of six interceptions, which ties the NAL record for the most interceptions in a single game.

Next week the Sharks face the Massachusetts Pirates (7-4) in a battle of two teams with winning streaks on Saturday, July 13 at 7:00 pm, in Worcester, MA. The game will be streamed live on the National Arena League YouTube page for free. The Sharks' next home game is on Saturday, July 19 as we take on the Massachusetts Pirates.
