Sharks Cut Roster to 24

JACKSONVILLE- The Jacksonville Sharks announced today that they have finalized their initial 24-man roster for the 2017 season.
Eight Sharks veterans will return to the team, including quarterback Tommy Grady whose 2016 season earned him a league-high 125.39 QBR. Other familiar faces include, All-Arena FB Derrick Ross, All-Arena offensive linemen Cornelius Lewis and Mo Ruffins, All-Arena DB Micheaux Robinson, DB Laroche Jackson, WR Maurice Williams and LB Charlie Hunt.
There were an additional eight other veterans who made the team including, AFL Rookie of the Year DB Marvin Ross, All-IFL OL AJ Harmon, IFL Defensive Player of the Year DE Jermiah Price, IFL Rookie of the Year and Florida Gator DB Jabari Gorman, former Orlando Predators DB Erick McIntosh, former Cleveland/LA WR Thyron Lewis, former Portland Steel WR Darryl Thompsoin, QB Damien Fleming and K Nick Belcher.
"There were a lot of tough choices to make this training camp, stated Head Coach Mark Stoute. Coming out of camp we feel good about mixture of the veterans and rookies we have. We have a ton of veteran talent that we expect to lead our team to a championship."
On offense, a veteran offensive line will be looking to protect QB Tommy Grady who will be throwing to a new set of wide receivers including rookie Will Dukes, Lewis, Williams, Hunt and speed burner Thompson. Ross will keep mowin' them down as well looking to lead the League in all rushing categories.
On defense, a veteran secondary of Jackson, Gorman, Ross, McIntosh and Robinson will anchor the unit. The defensive line will be led by Price. Hunt will hold down the JLB position. Rookies will comprise the rest of the defense and will need to step up early for this unit to thrive.
