Sharks Add ACC Talent to Bullpen

Wake Forest's Connor Johnstone and NC State's Evan Brabrand have signed to play with the Wilmington Sharks for the 2015 summer season. They join an already impressive bullpen, and Coach Bangs is looking forward to having them as a part of the rotation.
Johnstone has been a regular in the rotation for the Demon Deacons this season, making 18 appearances and 9 starts. He has posted a record of 2-4 in 54 innings pitched, with opponents batting .301 against him. Coach Bangs is excited to have the 6'1" sophomore righty, and feels he will contribute greatly to the Sharks bullpen.
"Connor is a guy coming back from an offseason injury, and has logged a lot of innings for a very good Wake Forest team. It's always great to have a guy in the rotation that can really attack hitters and get us deep in games with the lead so we can hand the ball over to our pen", says Bangs.
Brabrand, another ACC hurler, is a 6'5" righty walked onto the NCSU baseball team after spending the fall as a Quarterback for the Wolfpack football team. On the diamond for the Pack, Brabrand has made 6 appearances out of the bullpen.
"Evan being a Quarterback always brings an extra level of excitement to his outings. He has a very live arm with some good secondary pitches and will bea g reat addition to our bullpen," says Bangs. "We're looking to shorten games on our way to, hopefully, many victories this summer."
The Wilmington Sharks summer season will begin on Tuesday May 26th, as they host the Edenton Steamers.
