Shania Twain to Appear at Grey Cup

TORONTO – The Canadian Football League and the 2002 Grey Cup Committee, and Universal Music, announced today that international superstar Shania Twain will kick off the 90th Grey Cup halftime in Edmonton, Alberta on November 24.

In her first live Canadian performance in years, the Canadian sensation will perform new songs, including the current hit single "I'm Gonna Getcha Good" from her long-awaited album UP! before a jam-packed Commonwealth Stadium. Millions of television viewers will also be watching the Grey Cup on CBC and RDS in Canada, and the America One Network in the United States.

"I can't think of a more exciting homecoming for Shania than performing at this year's Grey Cup," stated Randy Lennox, President and CEO, UNIVERSAL MUSIC CANADA. "The Grey Cup is very much a part of the Canadian fabric and Shania's half-time performance is a wonderful stage to debut music from her forthcoming album, UP!"

Universal recording artist Shania Twain releases UP!, the much-anticipated follow-up to Come On Over (1997) and The Woman In Me (1995) on November 19. Come On Over is the most successful female solo artist album of all time with worldwide sales of more than 35 million copies.

A multiple International Award winner, since 1995, Shania Twain has won 5 Grammy Awards and 7 Juno Awards.

The Canadian Football League's nine teams compete annually for the Grey Cup, Canada's oldest professional League championship trophy. The 90th Grey Cup will be played in Edmonton on November 24, 2002.
