Second Tormenta FC Boys Training Center Program Rescheduled for February 28

February 19, 2021 - United Soccer League One (USL1) - South Georgia Tormenta FC News Release

STATESBORO, Ga. - South Georgia Tormenta FC has rescheduled its second Boys Training Center Program for Sunday, Feb. 28. Twenty-four talented Academy players were invited to the club's second Training Center Program, which will be held at The Clubhouse Fields in Statesboro, Georgia, and feature a professional training environment to identify and develop high-level players in preparation for the 2021 USL Academy League season.

"We're excited to be in a position to host our second Tormenta FC USL Academy Training Center," USL Academy Assistant Coach Jordan Melia said. "We have players in this training center that range from our U19s all the way down to our U14s, with a keen eye on the USL Academy Cup and USL Academy League in the coming months. We have a number of new players in this pool which speaks volumes to their dedication toward being a member of our USL Academy squad.

"These players have all worked hard for this opportunity, and we are delighted as an Academy and a franchise to be able to offer them this platform. We look forward to building a culture of professionalism and enjoyment in all aspects of the academy as we continue to evolve and grow."

Tormenta FC's second Boys Training Center Program follows the success of the club's inaugural program in November and inspired the Girls Training Center Program, which took place on Sunday, Feb. 7, at the Hardeeville Soccer Complex.

Tormenta FC was named a founding member of the USL Academy League's Southeast Division in October. The inaugural season of Academy League play is due to kick off in spring 2021 and will provide clubs in all three of the USL's senior divisions (USL Championship, USL League One and USL League Two) with an elite youth development and competition platform.
