Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders News Release
MOOSIC, PA. - Prepare for the ultimate power-up on June 9 at PNC Field. The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders will swap identities and become the Melonheads; one of the iconic team identities in the classic video game Backyard Baseball.
The first 2,500 fans that day get the Aaron Judge/ Gary Sanchez wiffle ball and bat set and Hall of Fame outfielder Tim Raines will kick off the Legends Series with a meet & greet and autograph session.
"We all grew up playing great games like wiffle ball or Backyard Baseball," Melonheads Team President and General Manager Josh Olerud said. "It is time that the likes of Justus Sheffield, Chance Adams and Clint Frazier suit up like Pablo Sanchez, Dante Robinson and Angela Delvecchio."
The jerseys worn by the Melonheads that night will be auctioned off to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of NEPA, who build character through everyday leadership and guidance in behavior and attitude. Young people of all nationalities and races come together in wholesome recreation and companionship.
The SWB Station team store will also carry a limited edition line of Melonheads apparel, both in person and online.
The Judge/ Sanchez wiffle ball sets are courtesy of Casey Dental and Tim Raines appearance is presented by Nasser Limousine and Mohegan Sun Pocono in conjunction with Steiner Sports. For tickets or more information, visit swbrailriders.com or call the E-Auto Box Office at (570)-969-BALL.
