Inland Empire 66ers News Release

San Bernardino, CA - A Scioscia sighting has been made at San Manuel Stadium. Matthew Scioscia, son of Angels' manager Mike Scioscia, has been transferred to the Inland Empire 66ers from Extended Spring Training.

He will take over the empty roster spot left when Gary Mitchell was placed on the Disabled List a week ago. Last year Scioscia hit .234 with three home runs and 26 RBI in 75 games for the Low-A Cedar Rapids Kernals.

Baseball America called him one of the Angels 2011 draft picks with the most intriguing background. The Inland Empire 66ers hope to make good use of the added depth to their roster with Scioscia on board during their upcoming road trip to division leading Lancaster which begins Friday, April 26th . The 66ers next home stand begins Tuesday, April 30th and it includes a Thirsty Thursday presented by Hangar 24, Thursday, May 2nd . That will also be College Night at San Manuel Stadium featuring a Vegas Trip Giveaway presented by the Tropicana Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.

For ticket package and group ticketing information contact the Inland Empire 66ers by phone at 909-888-9922 or online through www.66ers.com.
