Barrie, ON- The Barrie Colts have announced today that center Mark Scheifele has been sent down from the Winnipeg Jets back to his junior club the Barrie Colts.
Scheifele was selected by Winnipeg with the seventh overall pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Scheifele was eligible to play in a maximum of five regular season games before the Jets would burn a year on his entry level contract. He played in four regular season games where he averaged 11:31 of ice time and a faceoff win % of 71.4. Scheifele did not register a point in the four games.
In 30 games this season with the Barrie Colts, Mark Scheifele has 22 goals, 27 assists for 49 points and is a plus +19 on the year.
