Sanchez to Begin Rehab Assignment Tonight with Knights

(Fort Mill, SC) - Angel Sanchez, who is currently on the Chicago White Sox disabled list recovering from a lower back strain, will begin a Major League Rehab assignment with the Charlotte Knights tonight when the club hosts the Louisville Bats in game two of their four-game series. Sanchez, 29, was placed on the disabled list on April 14.

Tickets for tonight's 7:15 p.m. game, which also features a special appearance by Ron Rivera and members of the Carolina Panthers, are available at the Knights Ticket Office located at Knights Stadium, online at www.charlotteknights.com, or by phone at 704-357-8071. Gates open at 5:15 p.m. tonight for the special Panthers batting practice session. Panthers players will sign free autographs from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m.

Sanchez was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the Rule 5 Draft on December 6, 2012. He spent the entire 2012 season in the Houston Astros organization and played 107 games for their Triple-A affiliate in Oklahoma City. The Puerto Rican native hit .320 with five home runs and 45 RBIs.

So far this season, the 6'1" infielder has appeared in just one game with the White Sox. He went 0-2 on April 9 in Washington against the Nationals.
