Saints VP Katie Kenne Accepts Position with Travel Iowa

June 25, 2019 - United States Hockey League (USHL) - Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release

DUBUQUE, Iowa - After nine seasons with the Dubuque Fighting Saints, Vice President of Business Operations, Katie Kenne, is moving on to a new role with Travel Iowa that brings her back home to the Des Moines area. Since joining the Fighting Saints in 2010, Kenne was instrumental in the success that the Fighting Saints experienced off the ice and in the community. More recently, in the last three and a half seasons, Kenne served as the team's Vice President of Business Operations where she oversaw all marketing initiatives in addition to leading the development of many integral corporate partnerships.

Kenne's valuable contributions to the Fighting Saints also included spearheading the team's branding, graphic design, and community outreach efforts. In her new role with the Iowa Economic Development Authority Kenne will take her talents to Des Moines as the Tourism Outreach and Engagement Coordinator for Travel Iowa.

"Katie Kenne has dedicated herself to the Dubuque Fighting Saints for close to 10 years," said President of Business Operations Nick Shane. "In my entire 16-year career, Katie is one of the hardest working, smartest, and most passionate people I have ever come across in the industry. On behalf of the Dubuque Fighting Saints, I would like to thank Katie for what she has dedicated to this organization over the past nine seasons."

Managing Partner of Northern Lights Hockey, LLC, Brad Kwong added "Katie was employee number two when we re-launched the Saints in 2010-11. Since joining us from the Waterloo Black Hawks she has been an extremely valuable team member, achieving so much for our organization while developing into a seasoned sports marketing executive. We will miss Katie tremendously but thank her for her contribution and wish her the best as she continues to move upwards and onwards in her career."

"This was not an easy decision to make," said Kenne. "The past nine years have been very rewarding. I've enjoyed working with the Fighting Saints from the ground up and I've been lucky to work with some great individuals who have helped guide me to where I am today. I look forward to a new path in the tourism industry and am happy to be able to move home closer to family."

Kenne's last day with the Saints will be June 28th.
