Rox Hold Honkers to One Run in Road Win

Rochester, MN - Trevor Koenig (St. Cloud State) earned his second win of the season, allowing no runs in five innings pitched as St. Cloud (9-10) defeated Rochester (11-8) by a final score of 3-1.

The Rox had three consecutive scoring innings, beginning in the top of the fifth inning. Brendan Tinsman (Wake Forest) hit an RBI-single to left field that scored Garrett Delano (Brown) from second base. Tinsman finished the day with three hits.

Delano would deliver in the top of the sixth inning, this time with a solo home run over the left field wall to put St. Cloud ahead 2-0. Both of his home runs this season have come at Mayo Field.

The final run would come in the top of the seventh inning when Brady Harlan (Oklahoma) drew a walk with the bases loaded and was credited with the RBI.

Following Koenig's start, Justin Wick (Creighton) pitched the sixth and seventh inning while Joey Stock (St. Johns) earned the save after hurling the eighth and ninth inning.

The Rox will close their four-game road stand on Saturday against Rochester. First pitch from Mayo Field is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.

St. Cloud returns home on Sunday against the Duluth Huskies with a 4:05 p.m. first pitch time. It's Father's Day at the ballpark. It's also a Coborn's Kids Day, where children will have the opportunity to run the bases and get autographs on the field after the game.
