OKLAHOMA CITY SERIES RECAP

The Express won three of four against the RedHawks at The Dell Diamond in the last of four series between the American Southern Division rivals. Round Rock claimed the season series 10-6. The Express won the first (4-3), second (14-2) and fourth (12-9) games of the most recent series, while Oklahoma City won the third game 4-1. Round Rock hit .344 (52-for-151) in the series with eight home runs and out-scored the RedHawks 31-18. Chris Davis wielded the biggest bat for the Express, going 9-for-18 (.444) with four home runs and eight RBI.

EXPRESS EXTEND DIVISION LEAD

Round Rock (45-34, .570) its lead over Albuquerque (42-37, .532) in the American Southern Division to three games with Tuesday night's 12-9 victory over Oklahoma City and the Isotopes' 10-4 loss at Iowa. Albuquerque has lost seven straight and eight of its last 10. The Express have at least shared the division lead following 57 of 79 games this season. Round Rock's largest division lead of the season was at the start of play May 13 (four-and-a-half games). That day also was the season's high-water mark at 12 games over .500. New Orleans (38-42, .475) has lost five straight and trails Round Rock by seven-and-a-half games. Oklahoma City (34-46, .425) is 11-and-a-half games back. The Express are 16-12 against their division foes.

ROUND ROCK vs. AMERICAN NORTHERN DIVISION

The Express are 22-13 against American Northern Division teams this season. Round Rock has completed its season series against Iowa, winning nine of 16 meetings. The Express are 7-1 against Omaha - all at The Dell Diamond - and 5-3 against Nashville. Round Rock dropped two of three at Memphis in a rain-shortened series April 28 through May 1.

NASHVILLE vs. AMERICAN SOUTHERN DIVISION

The Sounds are 22-21 against American Southern Division teams this season. The bulk of those wins have come against New Orleans as Nashville won 12 of 16 meetings in the season series. Nonetheless, the Sounds have won five straight, and seven of eight against American Southern Division foes. Nashville enters tonight's game five-and-a-half games behind Omaha in the American Northern Division standings.

NAPOLI, WEBB JOIN EXPRESS ON REHAB

Mike Napoli and Brandon Webb join the Round Rock Express on rehab assignments tonight. Napoli, who was placed on the disabled list June 12 with a strained left oblique muscle, is expected to be in the lineup for tonight's game. He is hitting .221 with 10 home runs and 25 RBI this season for the Rangers, who are 13-7 with him behind the plate and 9-0 when he homers. Webb, the 2006 National League Cy Young Award winner with the Arizona Diamondbacks, is scheduled to start Friday night's game. He has spent the entire season on the disabled list after right rotator cuff surgery. Webb made four rehab starts with Double-A Frisco prior to joining the Express roster.

ROUND ROCK... RANGERS'

The Express roster now features five players on rehab assignments - Scott Feldman, Tommy Hunter, Mike Napoli, Darren O'Day and Brandon Webb. In all, eight Rangers have made rehab stops in Round Rock this season with Nelson Cruz, Josh Hamilton and Eric Hurley adding to the current list.

BIG-FLY GUYS

Round Rock enters tonight's game with 107 home runs on the season. The Express were the first PCL team to 100 home runs this season and currently lead the league by three over Colorado Springs and Reno. Albuquerque is the next closest American Conference team with 93 homers. Round Rock clubbed 23 homers over the last 11 games after being shutout in consecutive games. In fact, the Express have at least one home run in 16 of their last 21 games with 39 in that time and were shutout in three of the five homerless games. Round Rock already has eclipsed the franchise's 2009 total (97) and needs one home run to match last year's total. The Express hit 170 home runs in 2006, an average of 1.18 per game and still the club's Triple-A era (since 2005) record. The 2011 Express average 1.35 home runs per game and are on pace to hit 195 on the season.

MORE HOME-RUN NUMBERS

The Express have won nine straight games in which they have homered. ... Round Rock has homered at least twice 32 times, going 24-8 in those games. Eleven of the 32 games were on the road, and the Express are 8-3 in those games. ... The Express are 12-2 when hitting at least three home runs and 5-0 when hitting at least four home runs. ... Round Rock has two four-homer games (June 18 vs. Omaha, June 19 vs. Omaha), two five-homer games (May 15 at Las Vegas, June 28 vs. Oklahoma City) and one six-homer game (April 9 vs. Iowa). ... The six-homer game was the second-best game total in franchise history, a single-game Dell Diamond record and one homer shy of the club record set at Albuquerque in 2006. ... Six Express players have posted multiple-homer games this season: Chris Davis (five), Brian Barden, Luis Cruz, Esteban German, Taylor Teagarden and Chad Tracy.

OFFENSE STRUGGLES WITHOUT HOMERS

The Express have homered in 53 of 79 games this season, going 35-18 in those games. However, Round Rock is just 10-16 when failing to hit at least one home run. Furthermore, the Express average 3.92 runs per game when failing to homer. Meanwhile, Round Rock averages 5.87 runs per game when hitting at least one home run. The Express have homered in 16 of their last 21 games and scored a total of two runs in the other five games.

DAVIS CONTINUES TORRID PACE

Chris Davis is tied for fourth in the PCL with 19 home runs despite playing only 33 games. Each of the other four players in the league's top five has played at least 24 game more than Davis. He averages one home run every 6.89 at bats and has five multiple-homer outings - four in the last 11 games. If Davis were to have played the entire season with the Express, played 10 of every 11 games and homered at his current pace, he would have hit 74 home runs. Over the last 11 games, Davis is hitting .476 (20-for-42) with eight multiple-hit games, nine homers, 20 RBI and 13 runs scored.

NO LATE LOSSES AS OF LATE

The Express have won 12 straight when leading after seven innings and 11 straight when leading after eight innings. Round Rock is 34-3 this season when leading after eight innings; all three losses came in a 12-game span in the second half of May. The last time Round Rock lost when leading after eight innings was May 28 when Iowa posted three ninth-inning runs for a 6-4 win at The Dell Diamond.

BIG-INNING THEORY

Round Rock is 15-3 this season when scoring at least four runs in an inning and 30-31 when failing to do such. However, the difference in record is even more pronounced based upon what the opponent does. The Express are 42-21 when not allowing an inning of at least four runs but 3-13 when the opponent posts such an inning. The lone victories were May 11 at Tucson when the Padres scored four first-inning runs and the Express rallied for a 7-5 victory, June 19 when the Express built a 9-0 lead before weathering a four-run fourth inning by Omaha, and Tuesday night when Oklahoma City posted four ninth-inning runs in a 12-9 Express victory.

ROUND ROCK PERFECT FOLLOWING CONSECUTIVE LOSSES

Round Rock has not lost three straight games this season, going 11-0 following consecutive losses. Express wins in that situation were April 9 vs. Iowa, April 25 vs. Oklahoma City, April 29 at Memphis, May 15 at Las Vegas, May 19 vs. Colorado Springs, May 24 vs. Reno, June 1 at Oklahoma City, June 9 at Iowa, June 15 at Nashville, June 18 vs. Omaha and June 24 at New Orleans.

COMEBACK KIDS

Round Rock has 23 comeback win this season (trailing at any point in the game). The Express have won seven times when trailing after five innings, four times when trailing after six innings, four times when trailing after seven innings and three times when trailing entering the ninth inning.

CLOSE CALLS

Eight of Round Rock's last 18 games have been one-run affairs. The Express were 4-4 in those games but won each of the last two. Round Rock is 15-9 in one-run games. The Express started the season 7-1 in such games. Round Rock is 23-16 in games decided by two runs or fewer.

FIVE IS THE KEY

Round Rock is 37-11 this season when scoring at least five runs. Only eight times have the Express won when scoring fewer than five runs but three of those wins came 12 games - June 15 at Nashville (4-3), June 24 at New Orleans (2-1) and June 25 vs. Oklahoma City (4-3). Meanwhile, Round Rock is 28-11 when allowing fewer than five runs and 17-23 when allowing at least five runs.

EXPRESS LEAD PCL IN ATTENDANCE

Round Rock leads the PCL in attendance, averaging 8,429 fans per game. Sacramento is second with a 7,567 per-game average, while Albuquerque (7,450) is third. The Express have finished second or third in the PCL each season since joining the league in 2005.
