Roughnecks Advance to West Division Final

Denver, CO - The Roughnecks extend their post-season winning streak against their Rocky Mountain rivals to 8-0. The win eliminates Colorado from the 2018 NLL Playoffs and sets the stage for a Roughnecks-Rush West Division final when Saskatchewan hosts the Riggers next Sunday, May 13, at 5:00 p.m.

The Mammoth controlled the first half, going on a six goal run en route to a 7-3 advantage heading into the break. Although Colorado outshot the Roughnecks 50-46, Calgary dominated the second half outscoring the home team 12-5 including two empty net goals to conclude the night.

Dane Dobbie (6g, 3a) opened scoring for the Roughnecks and continued to lead the team's offence by adding five more goals and three helpers, a personal best this season. Dobbie's game leading nine point effort saw him reach a multitude of playoff milestones including over 50 goals and 50 assists to surpass 100 playoff points.

Curtis Dickson (4g, 1a) and Wesley Berg (2g, 5a) were the other top goal scorers for Calgary, tallying a combined six goals and six assists. Holden Cattoni (1g, 5a), Tyler Digby (1g, 3a) and Tyson Bell (1g, 1a) rounded out the scoring for the visiting team with one marker apiece.

Ryan Benesch (2g, 3a) and Jacob Ruest (2g, 3a) led the Mammoth with five points each, followed by Zack Greer (3g, 1a) with four. Jeremy Noble (2g, 1a) and Stephen Keogh (1g, 2a) were the other top point producers for Colorado.

Christian Del Bianco made 38 saves to record his first post-season win and also recorded his first playoff point with an assist in the fourth quarter.

It will be a battle of the prairies next week as Calgary faces off against the Saskatchewan Rush in the West Division final at the SaskTel Centre on May 13, at 5:00 p.m.
