Peoria Rivermen News Release
Peoria Rivermen General Manager Kevin McDonald announced Monday that the club has recalled right wing Chase Polacek from the Rivermen ECHL affiliate, Alaska Aces.
Polacek (poh-LAH-check), 22, scored once in each of his two games with the Aces after being assigned there on Oct. 26. He has appeared in one game for Peoria this season, their 5-0 win in San Antonio on Oct. 21. Last season he saw action in two regular season games and two playoff games for the Rivermen.
Last year, Polacek completed his senior season at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he led the team in goals (21), points (48), power-play goals (11) and shorthanded goals (4) in 37 games for the Engineers. He led the nation with nine game-winning goals in 2010-11. A Hobey Baker Top Ten Finalist, Polacek was named to the All-ECAC first team and the ECAC Hockey Player of the Year for the second year in a row.
The 5-foot-8-inch, 190-pound forward played in all 154 games during his collegiate career and finished 162 points (66 goals, 96 assists). Before attending R.P.I, the Edina, MN native played his high school hockey for the Academy of Holy Angels where he was a teammate of Rivermen winger Jay Barriball.
The Rivermen host the Chicago Wolves on Thursday for Thirsty Thursday presented by Sully's Pub, Brewers Distributing and Centerplate. Fans 21 and older can enjoy $2 Bud and Bud Light drafts throughout the game. For tickets call (309-676-1040) or visit www.rivermen.net.
