Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC News Release

PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh RIVERHOUNDS® (1-6-2, 6 points) begin a stretch of four games against Northeast Division opponents over the next two weekends. This weekend, the HOUNDS™ meet the Toronto Lynx (1-4-1, 5 points) on Friday at 7:35 p.m. and take on the division-leading Rochester Raging Rhinos (3-1-0, 12 points) on Sunday at 6:05 p.m. Both games take place at Bethel Park Stadium. The Rochester game is broadcast live on Pittsburgh Fox Sports Radio 970.

Having played twice as many games as Rochester and Montreal, the HOUNDS™ need to take advantage of the upcoming quartet of games to make a move within the division. The RIVERHOUNDS® are coming off a two-loss weekend where they dropped games to Rochester and Cincinnati pushing them into third place in the division after Montreal defeated Toronto on Sunday. The RIVERHOUNDS® lone win of the season was a 2-1 victory in the HOUNDS™ home opener on April 20.

The RIVERHOUNDS® have only scored seven goals in nine games. The Lynx and Rhinos have also scored seven goals this season; however, Toronto has played only six games and Rochester four.

Toronto continues its stretch of eight games on the road to open the season. The Lynx finally begin their home season on June 9 at Centennial Park.

Prior to visiting Pittsburgh for the second time in 10 days, Rochester plays host to the Milwaukee Rampage on Friday at Frontier Field. They play the first of four league-mandated back-to-back games next weekend when they travel to Hampton Roads and Richmond on June 8 and 9.

SUSPENSIONS AND INJURIES

The RIVERHOUNDS® and Lynx each have a player suspended for the game. RIVERHOUNDS® defender Matt Chulis will serve a one-game suspension for the red card he received against Rochester on Friday. Lynx defender Mauricio Vincello is serving the fourth game of a six-game suspension imposed by the league after Vincello made contact with a referee during the team's 1-1 tie against Richmond on April 26.

The RIVERHOUNDS® continue to be without defender David Wright who is rehabilitating from a knee injury sustained during training camp. Wright has been practicing with the team for more than a week but is still not match ready.

The RIVERHOUNDS® continue their three-game home stand on June 8 at 7:35 p.m. against the Montreal Impact. It's also Pepsi Posable Figure Night. The first 1,000 fans through the gate receive an adjustable soccer ball person compliments of Pepsi.
