Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC News Release

Pittsburgh-The Pittsburgh Riverhounds begin an excruciating stretch of games in the USL PRO regular season. With eight games in twenty-seven days, the Riverhounds will play two games a week during the month of July. The demand on the body will be immense and each player will need to possess a strong mind and perform as a professional.

The Riverhounds are unbeaten in their last four contests and are focused on maintaining this form. With six weeks remaining in the season, each game is critical and earning points is a must in order to receive a playoff berth.

The Riverhounds will travel west to match-up with the Dayton Dutch Lions on the Fourth of July for a midweek showdown at Miami Valley South Stadium. This will be the third and final meeting between the two Clubs in 2012. The Riverhounds hold the advantage thus far in the series with a 2-0 win in Pittsburgh in late April and a 1-1 draw last month in Dayton. Both contests were high-paced, filled with physical challenges and multiple scoring opportunities. Tomorrow's meeting should follow suit as both sides are focused on gaining a result.

Following the game tomorrow night, the Riverhounds will return to Pittsburgh for a day of rest before heading into the second showing of the Keystone Derby on Friday night at Chartiers Valley Stadium. Always hotly contested, the Derby has been circled by both Clubs as the battle for Pennsylvania bragging rights. The first meeting of the Derby ended in a scoreless draw at Skyline Sports Complex on City Island in Harrisburg. With both Clubs fighting for position within the league table, Friday night's meeting will be a good old-fashioned battle in the 'burgh.
