River Bandits to Host Charity Hot Stove Dinner January 29th
Davenport, Iowa - The Quad Cities River Bandits announced today they will be hosting their inaugural Charity Hot Stove Dinner on Wednesday, January 29th , from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Modern Woodmen Park. The evening will consist of dinner and a silent auction and will feature an address from keynote speaker, Dayton Moore, General Manager for the Kansas City Royals. All proceeds will benefit the Genesis Philanthropy's Family Connects program. Tickets are required.
Tickets go on sale Monday, December 23rd , and can be purchased by e-mail or phone. Seating is limited to the first 300 people. Ticket prices are $50 for season ticket holders and $60 for general public. Tables of 8 cost $600, which include a certificate for a free suite to use at any Bandits home game during April.
Moore spent part of his childhood in the Quad Cities. He attended Coolidge Jr. High and graduated Moline High School. He begins his 14th full season with the Royals as Senior Vice President-Baseball Operations/General Manager. Under his leadership, the Royals have twice won the American League pennant and, in 2015, were crowned World Series Champions. Stocked with some of the best young pitching in the Minor Leagues, the Royals are currently reloading for another strong playoff run.
Moore's tenure in Kansas City has been one of the most successful runs in franchise history as the Royals have boasted 17 Rawlings Gold Glove Awards, 28 All-Star Game selections and a Cy Young Award winner. Moore has received several other accolades over the last five seasons, being named to the Kansas Baseball Hall of Fame and the Kansan of the Year in 2014. He has also been tabbed "Executive of the Year" by Major League Baseball (GIBBY Awards) in both 2014 and 2015 and earned the same distinction from the Kansas City Sports Commission in 2015. He was recognized by the Boys & Girls Club with the John J. "Buck" O'Neil Diamond MVP Award as well as the Negro League Baseball Museum's Rube Foster Award for American League Executive of the Year in 2016.
A silent auction of autographed memorabilia and other items will be held during the event. All proceeds will benefit the Genesis Philanthropy's Family Connects program.

The River Bandits open the 2020 season on April 9 at Modern Woodmen Park against Peoria. Ticket packages are available for purchase.
