New England Revolution News Release
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - After taking over sole possession of the top spot in the Eastern Conference and MLS standings with a 2-2 draw against D.C. United last Thursday night at Gillette Stadium, the New England Revolution will look to preserve its place atop the table when the club hosts Western Conference side FC Dallas on Friday, June 6, at Gillette Stadium. The game will be televised locally on Comcast Sports Net at 6:30 p.m., while the game will also be available on the WEEI Radio Network.
The match will serve as the first half of special soccer doubleheader, with the national teams of Brazil - currently the world's second-ranked team - and Venezuela set for 8:30 p.m.
Friday night's meeting between New England and Dallas will be the second between the two clubs in a little more than a month, as the sides met at Pizza Hut Park on April 24. The Revs earned a 1-0 victory in that match courtesy of Khano Smith's 72nd-minute strike, handing the Hoops - who had entered that game as MLS' last remaining unbeaten team - their first loss of the season. Dallas has undergone a major change since that meeting, as former head coach Steve Morrow was relieved of his duties on May 20 and has been replaced by interim coach Marco Ferruzzi.
The Revs are 5-1-0 against the Hoops at Gillette Stadium since the facility opened in 2002, while they're 6-1-0 in the last seven overall meetings in Foxborough.
