Reilly and Gislason Named to USHL Top Prospects Game Staff

CHICAGO - Head Coach Gene Reilly and Broadcaster Ben Gislason were named to the 2019 USHL Top Prospect Game staff, announced earlier this morning by the USHL.

Des Moines tied with Sioux Falls for most organization members of any USHL team taking part in the event, including both players and staff.

Reilly will be one of two Assistant Coaches for Team West, which has five Bucs named to the roster in Kaden Bohlsen, Matt Brown, Brady Meyer, Tyler Paquette and Kirby Proctor.

"I am honored to be selected for this game," Reilly said. "I can't wait to be a part of such a great representation of our league both on and off the ice."

In his first 28 games at the helm of the Bucs, Reilly has guided Des Moines to second place in the Western Conference with a record of 17-8-1-2. It's the best record prior to the holiday break the Buccaneers have had since the 05'-06' season, which also happens to be when they won their last Clark Cup.

"It's great to see our organization being represented not just on the ice but also behind the bench," GM Tom Mannino said. "We are very proud of our Bucs players and staff for this opportunity."

Gislason will be serving as a member of the broadcast team for the game and performing media duties covering the entire day of the event.

"It's a real privilege and I want to thank the USHL," Gislason said. "The level of talent on display will be high-end and I am thrilled about the opportunity to cover this event and bring the game to life for the fans."

This is Gislason's second time being selected to represent the USHL Media. Last summer, Ben participated in the USHL's coverage of the 2018 NHL Draft in Dallas.

"The Buccaneers organization is excited for the opportunity for Ben to be a part of this game," President Nate Teut said. "The USHL obviously recognizes Ben as an up-and-coming voice in Hockey and it's a great honor for him to represent our organization at this event."

The game is set for Tuesday, Jan. 8 at the Ice Box in Lincoln.
