Reigning IFL MVP QB Daquan Neal Returns to Barnstormers

DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers have signed quarterback Daquan Neal to the 2021 roster on the first day of restricted free agnecy, Head Coach Ameer Ismail announced.

Neal (6-2, 215, Elizabeth City State) is the reigning IFL MVP after his impressive rookie season with the Iowa Barnstormers in 2019. During his first season with the Barnstormers, Neal led the IFL in passing touchdowns and helped the Barnstormers advance to the United Conference Championship. Neal finished his season completing 225 of 317 passes for 2,642 yards and 59 touchdowns against just three interceptions. His 59 touchdown passes were the most in the IFL while his 2,642 passing yards were second most. Neal found his way into the IFL record books as his completion percentage was third-most all-time at 71 percent. A threat running the ball, Neal rushed for 649 yards and 24 touchdowns, with his rushing touchdowns ranking him second in the league. Prior to earning MVP status, Neal had been named the IFL Offensive Player of the Week three times during the regular season and was also named First Team All-IFL QB.

Collegiately, Neal spent three years playing with the Elizabeth City State University Vikings. During his senior season, Neal collected 684 total rushing yards, 3,218 passing yards, and 25 total touchdowns earning All-CIAA Honorable Mention and an invitation to participate in the SPIRAL Tropical Bowl.
