Bowling Green Hot Rods News Release

Fort Wayne, IN - Despite two hits from Leonardo Reginatto and a near-quality start from Blake Snell, the Bowling Green Hot Rods (24-13) fell to the Fort Wayne TinCaps (23-14) 3-0 on Wednesday afternoon at Parkview Field in Fort Wayne. Jeremy Baltz broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the sixth inning when he connected for a two-run home run off Snell. The shutout loss is just the second of the season for the Hot Rods.

The Baltz home run ended an impressive stretch for Hot Rods starting pitchers, who hurled 21.1 straight innings without allowing a run, a stretch that dated back to Saturday.

Trying to threaten late, the Hot Rods brought runners into scoring position in both the seventh and ninth innings but struck out a combined five times. The loss brings an end to the Hot Rods three game winning streak and drops the team to 6-7 in the month of May.

The seven-game road trip continues Thursday night at Parkview Field in Fort Wayne with the rubber match of the three-game series at 6:05 PM CDT. The Hot Rods will send RHP Dylan Floro (3-0, 1.16) to the mound opposite the TinCaps LHP Justin Hancock (2-0, 1.59). The Forever Communications Pregame Show with Hank Fuerst will begin at 5:35 PM CDT. Tune in to the game on 1340 WBGN-AM and 1340wbgn.com.
