RedHawks Open Nine Game Stretch vs. Iowa-- The Oklahoma City RedHawks open a nine-game stretch against the Iowa Cubs tonight at 7:05 CT with the start of a four-game series at Principal Park...The RedHawks are 4-3 against the Iowa Cubs in 2011, including a 1-3 record at Principal Park...Following the four-game series in Des Moines, the RedHawks and Cubs shift back to RedHawks Field at Bricktown for a five-game series...Oklahoma City enter Saturday in fourth place in the American Southern division, 18.0 games behind first place Round Rock and 5.0 games behind third place New Orleans...The Iowa Cubs are fourth place in the Pacific Northern Division, 12.5 games behind first place Omaha...
Tonight's Probable Pitchers-- LH Dallas Keuchel (3GS, 0-1, 15.09) makes his fourth Triple-A start tonight...In his last start on August 15 against Colorado Springs Keuchel allowed one run and seven hits in six innings without a decision...Keuchel was among the league leaders in the Texas League in a number of categories, including ERA and innings pitched...Iowa starter Nick Struck (8GS, 2-3, 4.63) makes his third appearance against Oklahoma City...On July 6 Struck allowed two runs and six hits in 5.1 innings in a losing decision agaisnt the RedHawks, and on July 14 he gave up seven runs, five earned, and nine hits in 4.2 innings in another loss...Struck is coming off a no-decision on August 15 at Tacoma, giving up a solo home run and four other hits in six innings...
Last Game: August 19- Reno Aces 5, OKC RedHawks 3-- Angel Berroa was 3-for-4 with three RBI leading the Reno Aces to a 5-3 win over the Oklahoma City RedHawks before 5,971 Friday night at RedHawks Field at Bricktown...Tom Layne took a relief win for Reno, dealing five emergency relief frames after starter Barry Enright left after 1.1 innings...Ryan Rowland-Smith allowed four runs and seven hits in six innings in a losing decision...The RedHawks took the lead with a two-run second inning with RBI hits from Towles and Vallejo...Reno tied the score 2-2 wiht a two-run triple from Angel Berroa in the fourth inning...Gillespie and Berroa hit back-to-back solo home runs in the sixth inning for the lead...OKC's last run came in the seventh inning on a Brett Wallace bases loaded walk...Reno's Juan Miranda singled in an insurance run in the eighth inning...
Schafer Continues RedHawks Rehab-- OF Jordan Schafer continues a rehabilitation assignment with the Oklahoma City RedHawks, his first game action since being traded from the Atlanta Braves in the Michael Bourn deal on July 31...Last night Schafer was 1x3, and is 3x10 with one RBI in three rehabilitation games...Schafer was placed on the 15-day DL July 20 with a left middle finger joint injury...Schafer is expected to stay with the RedHawks through Sunday at Iowa...
Wallace, Johnson Since Option-- Brett Wallace was 0x3 with one RBI last night, falling to .356 (21x59) with 12 RBI in an Oklahoma City uniform over 16 games...Only five of the 21 hits are for extra bases from Wallace, all five doubles...Chris Johnson returned to the lineup last night for the first time in a week and went 2x4, improving to .297 (11x37) with one home run and eight RBI with Oklahoma City...
Hernandez Streak Continues-- Anderson Hernandez increased his hitting streak to 17 games with two more hits last night, tying the RedHawks season-best streak...10 of the 17 games have been multi-hit games...Robinson Cancel recorded the RedHawks' longest hit streak in 2011, posting a 17-game streak May 5-26...Reno's Tony Abreu hit safely in 24 straight games June 4-July 6, the longest streak in the PCL in 2011...The PCL record for consecutive games batted safely in a single season is 61 by Joe DiMaggio of San Francisco May 28-July 25, 1933...
Double Play Defense-- The Oklahoma City RedHawks lead the Pacific Coast League lead with 153 double plays...The next-closest team is Salt Lake with 149 double plays...Iowa is last in the PCL with 98 twin-killings...
