Real Salt Lake FW Corey Baird Named to USMNT Pre-Camp Roster Ahead of CONCACAF Nations League Group Finale

SANDY, UT - Real Salt Lake FW Corey Baird has been called by in by U.S. National Team Head Coach Gregg Berhalter for its pre-camp preparation for the CONCACAF Nations League Group A finale. Camp will be held in Bradenton, Fla. From November 2-9.

The 19 players who have seen their season conclude in MLS will make up the pre-camp rosterand with the pre-camp falling outside the FIFA international window, the European-based players that will be part of the USMNT roster will arrive in Orlando beginning Nov. 10, when the formal camp opens. That list will be revealed Nov. 6 on ussoccer.com.

"We have the opportunity to take advantage of the MLS post-season window to startpreparations for the matches against Canada and Cuba," Berhalter said. "It's another week tokeep progressing as a group as we focus on getting the results we need to advance to the knockout phase of the Nations League."

Baird, 22, finished his second year with Real Salt Lake after signing prior to the 2018 season. A product of Real Salt Lake's Academy, he scored five goals and added four assists in 31 matches this season after leading all rookies in scoring with eight goals, adding five assists in his 2018 MLS AT&T Rookie of the Year campaign.

Baird joins the U.S. National Team for his fourth call-up after notching an assist in two starts during January camp this year in his first opportunity. The Escondido, California, native has four total caps and also appeared for the U.S. U-17, U-18, U-20 and U-23 National Teams and prior to signing with Real Salt Lake was a three-time NCAA National Champion at Stanford University.
