Corpus Christi, TX: November 9, 2004 â The Corpus Christi Rayz will be celebrating Veteran's Day Weekend with an American theme at their home games this Thursday and Saturday. On Thursday, the Rayz will host the Austin Ice Bats and on Saturday, the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs will make their first visit of the year to Corpus Christi. On Thursday to commemorate Veteran's Day, all current or former military members will receive free admission to the Rayz games with their military ID. Saturday Night will be a night with the Dallas Cowboys and any fans wearing Cowboys apparel will receive a discounted ticket. Tickets are available for both games and can be purchased at all Ticketmaster outlets or at the AmericanBank Center Box Office.
This week the Rayz will play their first set of three games in three nights as they travel to Fort Worth on Friday in between their home games. Thursday night's game against Austin will be a Veteran's Day Tribute Game. Throughout the evening, there will be a patriotic presence at Rayz game. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive American Flags as they enter the arena. The Veteran's Band of Corpus Christi perform at the game and the U.S. Marine Corps color guard will present the colors during a special pre-game ceremony. At intermission, the Young Marines will perform an exhibition for the crowd, and many guests from local military bases will be the Rayz special guests at the game.
On Saturday night, the U.S.A. theme will continue as the Rayz celebrate with America's Team â the Dallas Cowboys. The Rayz will be giving out Cowboys themed prizes all night long, including tickets to their Monday Night Football game in Texas Stadium on November 15th vs. the Philadelphia Eagles. The Rayz will provide transportation to the game from Corpus Christi for many winners announced at the game. The Rayz will also be giving away Cowboys merchandise Saturday evening. The Cowboys mascot, Rowdy, will be at the game to entertain fans. Anyone wearing Dallas Cowboys apparel will receive a $2 discount on any ticket to the game.
