Arizona Rattlers News Release
Back and Forth: The Rattlers are coming off of a back and forth game against Quad City where they came away with a narrow 60-53 victory.
Bay Area Ballers: This is the third time in franchise history the Rattlers will face the Bay Area Panthers. Last season they swept the season series including a dominant 83-21 victory in San Jose.
Last in the Pack: Last season the Panthers finished last in the IFL, winning only one game to start the season against the San Diego Strike Force. The Rattlers hope to extend the Panthers 15- game losing streak.
California Dreamin: Since joining the IFL in 2017, the Arizona Rattlers have never lost a game to a team from California.
Old foes: Coach Kevin Guy and Darren Arbet have quite the history from their days in the Arena Football League.
WINfrey: Rattlers' defensive back Dillion Winfrey had the honors of receiving the IFL Special Teams Player of the Week for week 1 after his tremendous performance against Quad City.
Winfrey took over on returning for the injured Isaiah Huston and made quite the immediate impact.
Rough Schedule: The Rattlers look to end this series of season-opening road games 2-0 before heading back to the Snake Pit for the home- opener on April 8 against the Tucson Sugar Skulls.
They open the season with two tough road tests followed by a bye week before their home-opener.
Road Warriors: Since 2019, the Rattlers have an impressive road record of 19-4.
MVPowell: Last week the Rattlers were led in a back-and-forth contest by some outstanding performances from QB Drew Powell, with 139 passing yards and four rushing touchdowns as well as 89 rushing yards for two rushing touchdowns.
IFL Coaches Poll: The Arizona Rattlers remain in the top spot on the IFL Coaches Poll, while the Bay Area Panthers sit in the 3rd spot ahead of their first game.
