Colorado Rapids News Release
DENVER, CO (05-04-05)-The Colorado Rapids announced today three changes to the team's 2005 schedule, two of them affecting the Rocky Mountain Cup competition.
The two home games that have been moved due to stadium conflicts are: the Rapids' home game against the New England Revolution (previously scheduled for Saturday, August 20th), will now be played on Wednesday, August 17th at 7:30 p.m. (MT), and the Rapids' home game against Real Salt Lake (previously scheduled for Friday, August 26th), has now been moved to Wednesday, September 21st at 7:30 p.m. (MT). Both of these matches will take place at INVESCO Field at Mile High.
The one road game that has been rescheduled, the Rapids' second visit to Utah (previously scheduled for Saturday, October 15th ), is now set for Thursday, October 13th at 6:30 p.m. (MT), due to venue conflicts at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
The team also announced changes in its promotional schedule to accommodate the new game fixtures:
The Rapids will host "Marcelo Balboa Hall of Fame Night" on Saturday, July 23rd at 7:00 p.m. when they receive the Chicago Fire at INVESCO Field at Mile High. This night, which will serve as an honorary National Soccer Hall of Fame induction celebration for Balboa, will also feature a free Marcelo Balboa bobblehead collectible giveaway.
Both Wednesday night games against New England and Real Salt Lake on August 17th and September 21st will now feature the traditional Rapids Happy Hour presented by The Village at Legacy Ridge, pre-game promotion, which has already become a strong fan favorite. From 5:00 p.m. onwards on each of these nights, the traditional after-work Rapids Happy Hour attraction will take place as the hottest scene in the Denver area due to the drink specials and the hip atmosphere that fans can experience as they arrive at the stadium early on these nights.
The Rapids' Kids Appreciation Day, which will feature a free Rapidman Doll giveaway to kids 16 and under, and was originally scheduled for Saturday, August 20th, has now been moved to the Saturday, August 6th home game against the Los Angeles Galaxy.
2005 Rapids Ticket prices are $10.00 End Line, $15.00 Touchline, $20.00 Premium, $25.00 VIP and $40.00 Fieldside. Single game tickets are already on sale. Rapids 2005 season tickets and group tickets are also on sale now. For more information, please call the Rapids at 303.825.GOAL.
