Rampage Sign Defenseman Taylor Richart and Forward Charlie Sampair to Professional Tryout Contracts

SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Rampage today announced that the club has signed defenseman Taylor Richart and forward Charlie Sampair to professional tryout contracts. Additionally, the Rampage have announced that they have signed forwards Alexei Toropchenko and David Noel to amateur tryout contracts, in addition to recalling Dmitrii Sergeev from the Tulsa Oilers (ECHL).
Richart has appeared in 118 games with the Utah Grizzlies (ECHL) over the last two seasons, collecting 61 points (24g/37a). The 5-foot-9, 175-pound defenseman spent four seasons at Miami University (Ohio), tallying 20 points (3g/17a) in 133 appearances. The Blaine, Minn. native was also selected to the NCHC Academic All-Conference Team during the 2015-16 season, while also being a part of the 2014-15 NCHC National Championship team.
Sampair has recorded 61 points (32g/29a) in 71 games with the Tulsa Oilers this season. The White Bear Lake, Minn. native collected three goals and 10 assists in 44 contests last season with the Alaska Aces (ECHL). The 6-foot-1, 200-pound forward spent four seasons with the University of Minnesota-Duluth, where he gathered 14 points (5g/9a) in 102 total games.
Toropchenko, 18, has appeared in 66 games with the Guelph Storm (OHL) during the 2017-18 season, recording 39 points (17g/22a). Toropchenko was originally drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the fourth round of the 2017 NHL Draft (113th overall).
Noel, 19, spent the last three seasons in the QMJHL, tallying 78 points (25g/53a) in 135 games between the Chicoutimi Sagueneens and Val d'Or Foreurs. Noel was originally drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the fifth round of the 2017 NHL Draft (130th overall).
Sergeev has tallied 22 points (3g/19a) in 56 games this season with the Tulsa Oilers.
The Silver and Black return to the Alamo City for their final homestand to take on the Grand Rapids Griffins on Thursday, April 12 at 7 p.m. at the AT&T Center.
