Quad City Storm Adds Mueller and Harris to Roster, Hires Equipment Manager
The Quad City Storm announced today that the team has signed Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada native Ludlow Harris and Bakersfield, California's Mitchell Mueller to a professional tryout agreement for the team's October training camp. The Storm also announced the team has hired Mississippi native Josh Eaves as the Equipment Manager for the 2018-2019 season.
Canada native Ludlow Harris joins the Storm following stints in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), Federal Hockey League (FHL) and the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL), most recently with Macon Mayhem and Fayetteville Marksmen. Harris, known to his fans as "Junior," is 26 years old and stands at 6' and weighs in at 195 pounds and has proven to be a top defensemen. Coach Dave Pszenyczny said, "He is a player I wanted on the back end to give us a physical presence along with an offensive threat." "Look for big things to come from him this up-coming season," he added.
The California born Mitchell Mueller previously played in the FHL, ECHL and SPHL, most recently with the Fayetteville Marksmen and Norfolk Admirals. The 24 year old winger stands at 6'3" and weighs in at 215 pounds. "Mitchell is a hard-nosed winger who has experience at the next level and is not afraid to go to the dirty areas," said new head coach Dave Pszenyczny. "He will do whatever is needed for the team to succeed," he added.
The addition of Harris and Mueller will bring the Storm's training camp ledger to eight players, which includes the previously announced players Peter DiSalvo, Austin Hervey, Donald Olivieri, Bryan Arneson, Nicola Levesque and Vladimir Nikiforov. The Quad City Storm are expected to open their training camp in early October prior to October 13's preseason game against the Peoria Rivermen at Peoria's very own Carver Arena. The Storm's regular-season schedule is set to begin October 20 against the Peoria Rivermen at the TaxSlayer Center in Moline.
The new hockey team also announced that Josh Eaves has been hired as Equipment Manager for the inaugural season. The Illinois born, Mississippi raised Eaves comes to the Storm direct from the SPHL's very own Birmingham Bulls. Prior to that Eaves worked for the Mississippi Riverkings. Coach Dave Pszenyczny said, "I know he has a great work ethic and is a good person to be around.'
