
Pride Double Dip Comets; Osterman Improves to 6-1

USSSA Pride News Release
The USSSA Pride (11-5) shutout the NY NJ Comets (2-14) in both games on Saturday, both games ending in a 7-0 score at Osceola Co Stadium in Kissimmee, FL.
Game 1
Caitlin Lowe started the scoring for the Pride in the first inning, scoring on a bases loaded single by Andrea Duran making it 1-0 at the end of the first.
Nikia Williams would at to the lead in the fourth, hitting her first career NPF home run, giving the Pride a 2-0 lead. Kristyn Sandberg also homered for the Pride later in the fifth to extend the Pride lead to 4-0.
Jordan Taylor (2-1) would lead the Pride, beating the Comets and striking out 10 batters in a complete game shutout. Taylor earned her second win of the year.
Taryne Mowatt got the loss for the Comets, dropping to 0-4 on the year.
Game 2
The USSSA Pride scored three runs in the fourth on an RBI triple by Natasha Watley, a wild pitch, and an RBI single by Kristyn Sandberg.
Watley led the USSSA Pride's offensive threat, as she got on base three times in the game. She scored two runs and had one RBI.
Cat Osterman (6-1) handled the NY NJ Comets' lineup with ease, racking up 10 strikeouts improving to 6-1. The USSSA Pride's pitcher gave up just two hits over five shutout innings.
Angel Bunner was charged with her third loss of the year. She lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
