Power Return Home for Fun-Filled Weekend in Charleston

CHARLESTON, WV - The West Virginia Power are back home for a fun-filled weekend at Appalachian Power Park, as they open up a four-game homestand against the Lexington Legends from May 17-20. The Power are 2-1 against Lexington in 2018 after taking two of three at Whitaker Bank Ballpark from April 27-29. West Virginia and Lexington will play a total of 10 times in the Kanawha Valley.


Thursday, May 17: Power vs. Lexington Legends - 7:05 p.m.

Friday, May 18: Power vs. Lexington Legends - 7:05 p.m.

Saturday, May 19: Power vs. Lexington Legends - 6:05 p.m.

Sunday, May 20: Power vs. Lexington Legends - 2:05 p.m.

ABOUT THE LEGENDS: Lexington is 18-18 heading into its series with West Virginia. Managed by Scott Thorman, the Legends just finished a seven-game homestand with a 4-3 mark, including taking three of four from the Greenville Drive. Catcher Sebastian Rivero has caught on at the dish of late, hitting .419 in his last 10 games. He has been equally impressive in 11 road games this year, sporting a .382/.421/.647 slash line. Meanwhile, Seuly Matias continues to flex his power numbers, leading the team in homers (12) and RBI (26). However, the Power stymied Matias at Whitaker Bank Ballpark in late April, holding the slugger to two hits in 11 at-bats over the three-game set.

POWER TO END STROKE NIGHT: Presented by The American Heart Association, join us at the ballpark for Power to End Stroke Night. It's also another Rock 105 Thirsty Thursday, which means $1.00 12-ounce beverages and $2.00 16-ounce domestic cans. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m, with gates opening at 6 p.m.

MILITARY APPRECIATION NIGHT: All former and active servicemen and women will get into the ballpark for free on May 18 with proof of service at The Power Box Office. In addition, each branch of the military will receive in-game recognition. Be sure to stick around after the final out for a postgame fireworks show, courtesy of UniCare Healthplan of West Virginia and Electric 102.7. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m., and gates will open at 6 p.m.

UMBRELLA GIVEAWAY: Looking for a way to stay dry during the next rain storm? Be one of the first 1,000 fans at Appalachian Power Park on Saturday to receive an exclusive umbrella giveaway. Gates open at 5 p.m., and first pitch is on tap for 6:05 p.m.

KIDZ SUNDAY FUNDAY: Kids 12 and younger can play catch in the outfield prior to the game and run the bases after the final out, sponsored by SMART529 College Savings Program. Also, kids 12 and under get in free with their Kidz Club membership, presented by Sheetz. First pitch is scheduled for 2:05 p.m., and gates will open at 1 p.m.
