Pine Tar or not - Miracle Tip their cap to Ratty Hats

On the slick heels of MLB's Julian Tavarez-"Pine-Tar-on the cap" ruling.... The Miracle Professional Baseball Club is pleased to announce that Monday August 30th Doubleheader Ball game at Hammond Stadium will now be tagged as: "Ratty Hat Night". Wear a "Ratty-Hat" to Monday's 5pm Doubleheader at Hammond Stadium and get a "Miracle dollar" (aka – Miracle Moolah) redeemable on on-park purchases. Hats that are dirty, torn, or include a foreign object are welcomed. (safe objects– please!!!!)

During the evening the Club will crown a "Slickest-Looking-Hat award" to the person wearing what's judged as the "Rattiest" hat. Winner will be awarded a free-Oil Change compliments of Pam's Motor City. (note: LHP Steve Kline, RHP John Wettland, & INF/OF Craig Biggio are void from participating)

And.... If your name is Julian Tavarez, simply present photo ID at the Tkt Office and not only will you get in for free, we'll Give you a NEW MIRACLE CAP! When asked in Reference to Tavarez's flamboyant exit, which included Tavarez putting his arm around plate umpire Ron Kulpa and suggesting the two get a beer after the game... Miracle Food & Beverage Director John Acquavella glowed: "Suuuurrreeee, we'll honor Miracle Moolah on the purchase of beer"!

To date.... "No word on whether or not Gaylord Perry, Joe Niekro or "Mr. Pine Tar-himself" George Brett will be in attendance" DH this Monday August 30th vs. the Lakeland Tigers

Gates will open at 4pm Game will start at 5pm. The suspended game (Game #1) will pick up with Trailing 5-0, with two outs in the top of the second inning, the Miracle will be bating. The Miracle will be the visiting team for Game #1. The second game, (regularly scheduled game) will be a seven inning contest and the Miracle will be the home team for that game. Game #2 will begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of the resumed game.
