Petes Come up Short against Bulldogs

(Peterborough, ON) - Despite outshooting their divisional opponent, the Peterborough Petes dropped a 3-1 decision to the Hamilton Bulldogs at the Peterborough Memorial Centre on Thursday night.

Hamilton opened scoring in the first period. Nick Robertson (47) extended his point streak to 19 games with a shorthanded tally to get the Petes on the board in the second frame. Hamilton added power play and empty net goals in the third to seal the win.

Akil Thomas collected the Petes' lone assist.

Final shots were 38-30 in favour of the Petes, with Hunter Jones making 28 saves. Peterborough went 0/4 on the power play and 5/6 on the penalty kill.

The Petes now have a week between games, next hosting the Oshawa Generals on Thursday, February 27 at 7:05pm.
