Pats Visit Moose Jaw for Rematch with Warriors

The Regina Pats (29-24-5-1) are on the road on Friday night to take on the Moose Jaw Warriors (43-9-1-2). Puck drop is at 7 p.m. at Mosaic Place. The Pats hosted Moose Jaw on Wednesday night at the Brandt Centre and fell 6-3 to the Warriors. Tonight is the fifth of eight meetings on the season between the Pats and Warriors, Regina holds a 0-4-1-0 record in the season series. The game can be heard starting at 6:35 with Bennett Dunlop Ford Pats Hockey on 620 CKRM.

The Lead Up: Warriors take first of three straight games against Regina

The Regina Pats fell 6-3 at the hands of the Moose Jaw Warriors on Wednesday night at the Brandt Centre. Moose Jaw took the 1-0 lead at the seven minute mark, but Cameron Hebig responded for the Pats on a breakaway for his 39th and it was 1-1 after 20 minutes. In the second, Sam Steel scored on the powerplay for his 22nd of the year to give the Pats the 2-1 lead. However, Moose Jaw came back and scored three times in a span 43 seconds to lead 4-2 and that was the score at the second intermission. The Warriors added to the lead at the 6:30 mark of the third to make it 5-2, but Josh Mahura got it back with a powerplay goal, his 19th and it was 5-3. The Pats pulled their goaltender late and the Warriors would score into the empty cage to make it 6-3 and that was the final score. Matt Bradley led the Pats with three assists, Sam Steel and Josh Mahura had two points, while Max Paddock made 30 saves. The shots on goal were 36-36, the Regina powerplay went two for five and the penalty kill four for five.

Head to Head

Tonight is the sixth of eight meetings between the Pats and Warriors, Regina is 0-4-1-0 in the season series. Josh Mahura leads the Pats with three goals and nine points against Moose Jaw. Cameron Hebig and Sam Steel are next with seven points, while Libor Hajek has six points. The Warriors are led by Jayden Halbgewachs who has 12 points against Regina, while Tanner Jeannot has five points and Brandon Schuldhaus has four points. The Pats are currently holding the first wildcard spot in the Eastern Conference, three points ahead of the Saskatoon Blades. The Warriors enter tonight in first in the WHL with 89 points, three ahead of the second place Swift Current Broncos.

Bradley Streaking

Pats forward Matt Bradley is riding a four game point streak entering Friday night's game in Moose Jaw. The 20-year-old has scored three goals and has three assists in his four game streak. The product of Surrey, B.C. is up to 64 points in 59 games this season which is second on the team and tied for 30th overall in the league. His 33 goals are tied for 15th in the WHL and he is on pace to finish with 40 goals and 78 points.
