Pats Trade Goaltender Keegan Maddocks to Kamloops

October 15, 2021 - Western Hockey League (WHL) - Regina Pats News Release

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats announced Friday that they have traded 2003-born goaltender Keegan Maddocks to the Kamloops Blazers in exchange for an eighth-round pick in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.

Maddocks, 18, made two appearances with the Victoria Royals last season, going 0-1 with a 3.31 goals-against average and a .900 save percentage. The Langley, B.C., native was previously acquired by the Pats on July 27, 2021 in exchange for 2001-born forward Carter Massier. The 6-foot, 176-pound goaltender was previously drafted by the Royals in the eighth-round of the 2018 WHL Prospects Draft.

"We had an opportunity to move Keegan to a team that needed some depth, so we thought it was best for him," said Regina Pats GM John Paddock. "We feel we have enough goaltending in our organization to allow that."

The Regina Pats (2-3-0) are back in action tonight at the Brandt Centre against the Winnipeg ICE (4-0-0). Puck drop is 7:00 p.m. You can get your tickets! The first 3,000 fans inside the doors get a free 2021-22 Regina Pats fridge magnet schedule presented by Western Pizza. Doors this evening open at 6 p.m.
