Pats End Four Game Road Swing in Brandon

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats (19-26-2-1) finish their four game road swing against the Brandon Wheat Kings (26-16-3-2) on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., at Westoba Place.

The Pats are coming off a 4-3 overtime loss to the Calgary Hitmen on Sunday, falling t0 1-1-2-1 against the Hitmen this season. The Pats finished their first three-in-three on the road since the 2014-15 season where the club went 0-3.

The Pats had three one goal leads escape from them in Calgary, before Blake Stevenson's overtime winner. Layton Feist, Easton Armstrong and Cole Carrier scored for the Pats, while Connor Bedard recorded two assists. The final shots were 34-31 for the Hitmen, with the Pats going 0-1 on their power play, but 3-3 on the penalty kill.

Regina finished the month of February 3-7-2-0, outscored 51-42.

For the Brandon Wheat Kings, they are coming off a 5-2 loss to the Saskatoon Blades on home ice on Friday. Brandon finished with a 6-2-1-0 record in February, their second-best monthly record of the season. (7-2-1-1 in Dec.). Eight of the next 12 games, including tonight will be played at Westoba Place. 14 of the final 21 games will be played on Manitoba soil (12 in Brandon, 2 in Winnipeg).

Former Wheat King Netihan Salame will make his return to Westoba Place. The Edmonton, AB native who played 149 regular-season games with the Wheat Kings was traded to Victoria in October, before being claimed by the Pats off WHL waivers.

Connor Bedard was named the WHL's February Player of the Month on Tuesday, March 1...the North Vancouver, B.C., native led all WHL skaters with 26 points (13G-13A) during the month of February and registered a point in each of his 12 appearances this past month, highlighted by 10 multi-point games and a five-point outing (3G-2A) Feb. 11 against the Calgary Hitmen.
