Uncasville, CT - Connecticut Sun overseas play saw a slew of games last week as teams came back from the holidays. Jasmine Thomas and her CBK Mersin team beat EuroCup opponent Lointek Gernika, 69-40, in Game 2 of the EuroCup playoffs. Thomas had 15 points, four rebounds, one assist and two steals in the contest. CBK Mersin then faced Turkish League adversary, Elazig, outscoring them 81-53. Thomas had five points, one rebound, two assists and two steals in six minutes of play.

Dijonai Carrington and her Elitzur Tel Aviv team lost to Israeli League counterpart Neve David Ramla, 69-56. Carrington had a double-double with 19 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and two steals in the effort.

Natisha Hiedeman and her Nadezhda squad faced Russian League adversary, Ruzomberok, beating them 80-51. Hiedeman had 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists in the victory.

Kaila Charles and Dynamo Novosibirsk lost a close game to Russian League opponent Enisey, 73-71. Charles had seven points, six rebounds and two assists in the match.

Beatrice Mompremier and her Uni Gyor team faced Hungarian League counterpart, Vasas Csata, beating them 76-63. Mompremier tallied a double-double of 23 points, 13 rebounds, two steals and one block, marking her 10th double-double of the season.

Uni Gyor's second game of the week against Sopron Basket saw a Connecticut Sun matchup between Mompremier and Briann January. Third-ranked Uni Gyor handed first-ranked Sopron Basket its first loss of the season in Hungarian League play, 76-73. January had four points, one rebound, five assists and two steals. Mompremier had a double-double and an impressive rebounding night collecting 20 along with 10 points, one assist, one steal and two blocks.

Brionna Jones and her ZVVZ USK Praha squad faced U19 Chance Strakonice, decisively beating them 126-45. B. Jones had 27 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, three steals and three blocks. ZVVZ USK Praha is now 12-0 and remains at the top of the Czech Republic League standings.

Stephanie Jones and her Gorzow team lost to first-ranked Polish League opponent Lublin, 81-64. S. Jones tallied 12 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals in the effort. Gorzow remains fifth in league rankings.

Jonquel Jones and her UMMC Ekaterinburg team defeated eleventh-ranked Russian League opponent Rostov, 92-43. J. Jones had 18 points, 17 rebounds, two assists and three blocks. UMMC Ekaterinburg is now 13-0 on the season.

Connecticut Sun players return to action this week, starting with a matchup between Charles and her Dynamo Novosibirsk team and Hiedeman and her Nadezhda squad in Russian League play. J. Jones and UMMC Ekaterinburg will face Brionna Jones and ZVVZ USK Praha in EuroLeague Group A play at 1:00 P.M. EST on January 12. January and Sopron Basket will face Fenerbahce Safiport at 12:00 P.M. EST and Hiedeman and Nadezhda will play EuroCup Round of 16 play against BC Polkowice at 1:00 P.M. EST on January 13. S. Jones, Mompremier, January, B. Jones and Alyssa Thomas will play on January 15; and the week's play will round out with games from J. Jones, Hiedeman and Charles on January 16.
