Otters Weekend Roundup

February 9, 2021 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Erie Otters News Release

While the Otters may not be able to take the ice at the Erie Insurance Arena right now, here are the 3 key moments from this weekend for our Otters Alumni...

1. Jack Duff

The Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins have signed Otters defenseman, Jack Duff, to an amateur tryout agreement.

"This means a lot to me, it's something that brings me one step closer to my dream. I am super excited for this opportunity but there is still tons of hard work left to do." Duff said.

2. Chad Yetman

On Saturday, the Rockford Ice Hogs took on the Chicago Wolves and former Otters right winger Chad Yetman made his mark early in the game capturing his first professional goal.

When asked about this Yetman said, "It felt awesome to get my first goal so early. It definitely settled me into the game quickly and made me feel comfortable and more confident to play my game."

The Rockford Ice Hogs are set to take the ice again February 9th at 3pm against the Chicago Wolves.

3. Jamie Drysdale

A few hours after Yetman stepped off the ice in Chicago, Jamie Drysdale made his debut in San Diego. Jamie scored late in the first to give the Gulls a 2-1 lead over the Bakersfield Condors. In the second, Jamie recorded an assist on Sam Carrick's tiebreaking goal. The Gulls went on to win the game 4-3.

"This past weekend was really exciting for me. It was awesome to play my first two pro hockey games and score my first goal. I always dreamed of playing pro so having the opportunity to play now is very special for me and my family." Drysdale said when asked about this weekend.

The San Diego Gulls return to action on Wednesday February 10th at 7pm against the Ontario Reign at home.
