Missoula PaddleHeads News Release
MISSOULA, MONT - In the first battle of Pioneer League first-half division champions this season, the Ogden Raptors jumped out to an 8-0 lead and cruised to a 10-3 win over the Missoula Osprey on Friday at Ogren Park Allegiance Field in front of 2,304 fans.
The Raptors (7-12, 29-28) scored the first five runs of the game on home runs - a solo shot by Scott Schebler, and a grand slam by Joc Pederson, both off of Osprey starter Robby Rowland (2-4). Ogden followed with a three-run fourth for an 8-0 lead.
The Osprey (11-8, 36-21) - who lost back-to-back games for the first time since June 26-28 - responded with a three-run sixth inning. Fidel Pena nailed a two-out single and Stephen Cardullo hit a two-run home run, his fifth of the season, to cut the Ogden lead to 8-3. The Raptors would add a pair of runs in the top of the seventh for the final margin.
Pena and Cardullo each had two hits, as three Ogden pitchers held Missoula to just six hits on the night. Justin Bianco added a single while Ryan Court doubled to start the two-out rally in the sixth for the Osprey.
The Osprey will continue their three-game series with the Ogden Raptors on Saturday at Ogren Park Allegiance Field. The Osprey will send right-hander Jesse Darrah to the mound, and he will be opposed by Raptors right-hander Brandon Martinez.
Tickets for all remaining games this season are now on sale at the MSO Hub Box Office, located at 140 N. Higgins, by phone at (406) 543-3300 or online at MissoulaOsprey.com.
