The CFL division finals games and the USL championship were on espn2 Sunday, but none of the broadcasts received the 0.05 demographic rating needed to get into the Top 150 cable programs on Sunday.
Top 10 OSC Ratings Storylines of 2019 (4-6)
6. BIG3 Season 3 moves to CBS networks
The BIG3 moved from FOX sports channels to CBS channels in season three. The move provided mixed results. CBS gave the league more broadcasts on OTA TV, but CBSSN as a cable home was a far cry from FS1 as far as visibility and accessibility.
5. PLL Debuts on NBC Networks
The Premier Lacrosse League had its first season telecast on NBC networks. The opening weekend drew a decent rating with over 400k viewers, but later broadcasts on NBC couldn't replicate those results, including a sub-300k result for the championship game on NBC. Trying to compete with Saturday fall college football is generally not going to give a competitor great ratings.
4. Major League Rugby championship posts a solid rating on CBS
Major League Rugby had its first championship on network TV, and the CBS telecast drew a good rating, beating the WNBA and PLL with a 0.13 demo rating and 510k viewers. For many Americans unfamiliar with rugby, was it just different enough from other sports to draw their interest?
