Optim Health Systems Claims Naming Rights for Tormenta FC Field

STATESBORO, Ga. - South Georgia Tormenta FC announced today that Optim Health Systems has claimed the naming rights for the playing field at its new stadium, set to be ready for the 2022 USL League One season.

"Optim has been a phenomenal partner of Tormenta FC since our humble beginnings in 2015, and we've grown tremendously together over these past five years," TFC Owner and President Darin Van Tassell said. "They continuously provide our pro athletes with the best athletic trainers and rehabilitation care in their times of need and with preventative care throughout the season.

"Partnering with Optim Healthcare for the naming rights of our match field is a perfect fit for us, and we look forward to many more years of working with the best health system in South Georgia and the Low Country of South Carolina. And a special thank you to Dr. Don Aaron, who has been a critical part of the Tormenta FC staff and family."

Tormenta FC's 5,300-seat stadium will be home to the club's professional USL League One team, the USL League Two squad, the USL Academy matches -- as well as both the Georgia Southern University Men's and Women's NCAA Division I soccer teams. When not in use for soccer, the stadium will host live concerts, and maintain space available for conferences, weddings, reunions and other large gatherings.

As the only Georgia professional sports team outside of metro-Atlanta, Tormenta FC's state-of-the-art, soccer-specific facility will feature luxury suites, a multi-functional gym for players, a restaurant and craft brewery sourced by the local Eagle Creek Brewery. A healthy eating dining hall for players and a team merchandise store, among many other amenities, will make the stadium a destination location.

To be located at the corner of Tormenta Way and Old Register Road in Statesboro, Tormenta FC strives to become a focal point of sports tourism and entertainment for Statesboro and the entire state of Georgia. The larger development project will include The Clubhouse, a Publix Super Market, movie theater, hotel, and retail and commercial spaces. Single-family and multi-family housing developments will make the stadium-anchored development a unique "live, work, eat, play" district for Statesboro.
