Winnipeg Ice News Release
The Oil Kings came out a hot start jumping out to an early 1-0 lead. They would add three more before the period was over to take a 4-0 lead into the first intermission. Edmonton went 1/1 on the power play while the ICE wen 0/1 in the first period.
Gage Alexander entered the game to start the second period in relief of Liam Hughes and it seamed to give the ICE a spark. The ICE got one early in the second as James Form put a shot from the slot passed the Oil Kings net minder. Michael Milne and Anson McMaster picked up the helpers on that one but it was the Oil Kings who answered. The Oil Kings scored the next three goal in the second to take a 7-1 lead into the final period.
The ICE would come out strong in the third period but couldn't get anything going. Edmonton would get three more in the third and take this afternoon matinee.
