OF Edgardo Baez Released, IF Zelous Wheeler Joins Bowie

BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox announce a roster move today. OF Edgardo Baez was released by the Baltimore Orioles and IF Zelous Wheeler was transferred to Bowie from class Triple-A Norfolk. With the moves, the Baysox have 25 active players on the 25-man roster.
Baez appeared in three games for Bowie this year, going 1-6 with a walk and a stolen base.
Wheeler was claimed off waivers from the Milwaukee Brewers by the Orioles in March. In five games with the Tides, he hit .211 (5-19) with two doubles, two RBIs and two strikeouts. The infielder split the 2011 season between the Double-A and Triple-A affiliates of the Milwaukee Brewers, appearing in 77 games.
