January 9, 2024 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Northern Arizona Wranglers News Release

Odom joins the Wranglers for his first season in the Indoor Football League. Odom spent one week with the Bay Area Panthers during the 2023 season, but did not get the chance to suit up. Odom recently traveled from Atlanta, Ga., to Prescott Valley Ariz., on Sunday, November 5th. This was a chance for Odom to compete in the Wranglers most recent open tryout. After putting forth his best effort, and a great performance, the Wranglers coaching staff saw the talents of Odom. Odom was given an opportunity to compete as a wide receiver for the Wranglers heading into the 2024 season.

Odom began his collegiate career at Reinhardt University in Waleska, Ga. After graduating from Reinhardt, Odom attended Grad school at Kentucky State University in Frankfort where he played his last year of eligibility. Odom earned recognition as an All-American kick returner, as well as a two-time All-Conference kick returner while at Reinhardt University. Odom was a dynamic returner and running back throughout the course of his collegiate career. During his grad season at Kentucky State, Odom racked up 568 total yards and six touchdowns on the ground. Odom also averaged a tremendous 8.8 yards per carry on 56 rushing attempts. Odom earned the Kentucky State Football Newcomer of the Year Award in 2021.

Odom is originally from Atlanta, Ga., where he attended KIPP Academy. Odom was originally inspired to play football after discovering his athletic abilities through running track. Odom stated, "It was a natural transition from track to football, I felt that I was always overlooked as an athlete and football player." Odom expanded on this by saying, "I had to put in extra work to prove people wrong who didn't think I could play football." Odom cites the doubt and underdog mentality as something that continues to drive him to play today.

When asked about what he is looking forward to about joining the Wranglers, Odom stated, "I am excited for the opportunity to showcase my skills to the world at the professional level. I want to show people that it's not about size, it's about the heart." What can Wranglers fans expect from Odom on the field? Odom stated, "Whenever the ball is in my hand, anything can happen; I am a playmaker." Odom also added to this by saying, "I am an underdog, I bring excitement to the game of football, and I hope I will be fan favorite for the Wranglers."
