Noah Finstrom Commits to University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point

April 30, 2020 - North American Hockey League (NAHL) - Jamestown Rebels News Release

Jamestown, NY - Jamestown Rebels forward Noah Finstrom has announced his commitment to further his hockey career, playing Division III hockey at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

"Stevens Point just got themselves a Division 1-level player," said Rebels Head Coach Joe Coombs. "Noah was a great player for us two years; his commitment level both on and off the ice will allow him to succeed in life."

Finstrom, who spent three years in the NAHL with the Rebels organization dating back to 2017-18 in Philadelphia, became the third player from the Rebels to announce a commitment this season. He had a stellar final junior season, leading the Rebels in points (42) and assists (26), while being selected to represent Jamestown at the NAHL's 2020 Top Prospects Tournament back in February. The Rebels Assistant Captain finished out his NAHL career with a total of 76 points (25 goals, 51 assists) over the course of 129 regular season games and added two helpers in the Rebels' playoff run last season. Coombs knows he'll be losing a key piece to the puzzle next year, but is happy for Finstrom nonetheless.

"I am sorry that he aged out, but happy to see him accept the next chapter in his journey. We wish him nothing but the best," continued Coombs.

For Finstrom, his time spent with the Rebels and in Jamestown will be something he'll cherish and take with him moving forward into his time at UW-Stevens Point, a school he sees as the complete package.

"First off, I can't thank the Rebels organization enough for everything they have done for me these past three years," said Finstrom. "I wouldn't be the player and person I am today if it wasn't for everyone involved in Jamestown. Stevens Point is great. It's everything you could ask for in a college hockey organization. I can't wait to get started there in the fall."
