[*] The New York Liberty beat the defending WNBA champion Washington Mystics, 74-66, which secured the team's first win of the 2020 season.

[*] Walt Hopkins recorded his first career win as a WNBA head coach.

[*] New York had 38 rebounds, 16 assists and 17 bench points.

[*] New York used its 4th different starting lineup of the season, replacing Jocelyn Willoughby with Leaonna "Neah" Odom at small forward.

[*] New York tallied a season-high 12 three-pointers made on the night (37.5%), both are a season best.

[*] The Liberty scored 12 second chance points, the most this season.

[*] Tonight is the Liberty's second game this season winning the first half (40-31). The first game was against Atlanta on July 31. New York held the Washington offense to its season-low of 31 points through the first half.

[*] Washington did not have a single offensive rebound in the first half. New York grabbed six total on the night.

[*] Tonight, New York snapped a seven-game Washington winning streak against the Liberty that dated back to September 10, 2017.

[*] The Liberty last beat the Mystics on August 25, 2017, 74-66 in New York.

[*] The Liberty opened the game on a 6-2 run in the first 90 seconds of the game.

[*] New York's 14-5 run midway through the second quarter extended its lead to 11 points, the most of the half.
