New England Revolution Youth Development Highlights: May 26, 2021

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Three of the four New England Revolution Academy teams took the field on Sunday afternoon at Gillette Stadium in MLS NEXT spring season play, with the Under-17s and Under-15s both picking up wins over New York City FC, 2-0 and 2-1 respectively. The U-17s stretched their unbeaten streak to four matches while the U-15s are unbeaten in their last eight, including four consecutive victories. Additionally, the Under-19s defeated Black Rock Northwood, 5-1, in an exhibition match.

The U-17s will close out their MLS NEXT season on Thursday, May 27 hosting Seacoast United at Gillette Stadium. All four Academy teams will have Memorial Day weekend off while Revolution II will host Fort Lauderdale CF on Friday, May 28 at Gillette Stadium. The match is scheduled to kickoff at 5:00 p.m. ET (ESPN+).

Forward Meny Silva (2002 - Roxbury, Mass.) tallied a goal and an assist for the U-19s while forward Michael Tsicoulias (2002 - Newton, Mass.) and midfielder Hikaru Fujiwara (2003 - Lexington, Mass.) each bagged a brace. Defender Greg MacLean (2002 - Walpole, Mass.) recorded an assist.

Forward Malcolm Fry (2005 - Groton, Mass.) and midfielder Matteo Gomes (2004 - Dracut, Mass.) each scored their first goals of the season in a winning effort for the U-17s.

Isaie Louis (2005 - Everett, Mass.) and Jack Panayotou (2004 - Cambridge, Mass.) each factored into the U-17s' win with one assist each, their first helpers of the season.

Goalkeeper Matthew Tibbetts (2004 - Westborough, Mass.) made his third-straight appearance for the U-17s, recording his second consecutive clean sheet with three saves.

Forward Angel Ortez (2006 - Revere, Mass.) scored two goals to power the U-15s to a fourth consecutive victory. Strike partner Enzo Goncalves (2006 - Hyannis, Mass.) and midfielder Giuseppe Ciampa (2006 - Westwood, Mass.) each added assists.
