New England Revolution to Open 2019 Preseason in Spain

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution will begin 2019 preseason training on Monday, Jan. 21, as the team convenes at Gillette Stadium in preparation for the 2019 Major League Soccer season. The Revolution will then embark on a trip to Marbella, Spain from Jan. 25 - Feb. 8, followed by a return to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. from Feb. 12 - 24.

Following an initial week of training in Foxborough, the Revolution will travel to Marbella, Spain for two weeks of training and exhibition matches at the Marbella Football Center. While in Marbella, the Revolution will face top-flight competition from across Europe and China, beginning with Chinese Super League side Shanghai Greenland Shenhua F.C. on Jan. 31 and Ostersunds FK from Sweden's Allsvenskan on Feb. 1. New England will close the Spanish leg of preseason against UEFA Europa League contender Ukrainian club FC Dynamo Kyiv on Feb. 6.

After a brief spell back in Foxborough, the Revolution will return to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. for a second consecutive year, leaving on Tuesday, Feb. 12 and returning on Feb. 24. New England will resume its exhibition schedule on Feb. 14 against two-time defending USL Cup Champions Louisville City FC. Following two additional matches to be announced at a later date, the Revs will play the preseason finale in Bradenton against KR Reykjavik, the 26-time champions of Iceland's top division, on Feb. 23.
