NC Courage Preseason Update

March 12, 2018 - National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) - North Carolina Courage News Release

Cary, NC (March 12, 2018)- The North Carolina Courage continue to show strength in their preseason preparation after a 3-0 win against Clemson over the weekend. In Saturday's match against the Tigers, Lynn Williams and Jess McDonald (2) provided the goals, while the team posted it's fourth shutout of the preseason.

Williams, Abby Dahlkemper, Crystal Dunn (USA) and Allysha Chapman (Canada) reported to preseason training camp for the first time last week following the conclusion of the SheBelieves Cup and Algarve Cup.

"It's been a great start to preseason, and now adding seven players that have been away on international duty has given the group a further boost," said Head Coach Paul Riley. "Obviously this is our first step on our 2018 road, and we relish this opportunity to be bold, decisive and have the character and guts to follow it thru. Clemson was our latest challenge and we have been fortunate enough to play some excellent college teams which has helped in our preparation for the start of the NWSL season. We have a foundation and now with the majority of the squad back in Courage Country, we can continue to evolve our style and match preparation as the season ticks closer."

The NC Courage returns to preseason action on Tuesday, March 13 as they take on Wake Forest at WakeMed Soccer Park.
