Navigators to Host Lynn Dominican All-Stars Saturday

LYNN, MA (July 21, 2011) - The Navigators will play host to the Lynn Dominican All-Stars at Fraser Field in Lynn on Saturday, July 23. The game will take place at 3:00 p.m.

The game will be preceded and followed by a number of interactive events throughout the city of Lynn, including a ceremonial parade en route to Fraser Field at 11:00 a.m. The parade will also feature many of the Dominican players.

Various aspects of Dominican culture will be on display at the stadium beginning at 12:30 p.m., as live music and food from various Dominican restaurants will be offered until 2:30 p.m. Two Dominican comedians will also be on hand.

Pre-game ceremonies will be observed prior to the game. More music and festivities will then continue after the game and throughout the night until 9:00 p.m.

"One of our missions is to bring people together and celebrate the community," said Navigators owner Tim Haley. "What we're trying to do is capture the flavor of going to a game in the Dominican Republic."

Haley and Frances Martinez, a representative of the Dominican community, have worked diligently together in an effort to make the event a special one.

The major sponsor for the event is Telemicro International, the Dominican Republic TV network. Telemicro will also broadcast the game.
