Mystics Add Peters, Re-Sign Taylor

Washington, D.C. -Washington Mystics Head Coach Mike Thibault announced that the team has signed forward Devereaux Peters and re-signed forward Asia Taylor.

"We are excited about adding Devereaux to our roster," said Thibault. "After having to sit out last season due to injury, she has recovered and is playing well in Europe. Her versatility at both forward spots will give us flexibility and depth in our front court."

The 6'2 Peters was selected by the Minnesota Lynx as the third overall pick of the 2012 WNBA draft. She was a member of the Lynx team that won the 2013 WNBA Championship. During her rookie season, she led all rookies in field goal percentage (56%). Peters has career averages of 4.4 points per game and 3.7 rebounds per game. She is currently playing in Slovakia and is recording 8.1 points per game and 5.7 rebounds. Peters attended Notre Dame where she is ranked in the top ten in many of the school's career statistical lists.

Taylor returns to the team after appearing in 24 games and averaging 1.9 points per game and 1.8 rebounds per game. She was the 36th overall selection in the 2014 WNBA Draft by the Minnesota Lynx. Taylor was also on the roster of the Connecticut Sun. Taylor is currently playing in Australia where she is averaging 18.86 points per game and 7.71 rebounds per game.

"Asia was an excellent contributor to our winning culture last season, having to fill many roles throughout the season" stated Thibault. "She has had another excellent season this winter as one of the top players in the Australian league." "
